EMILY YOUNG ARTISTRY
Artist Education
Hello my amazing, talented creatives! I'm so so grateful to have you as part of my team, making people feel their best!!
This page will be your go-to for makeup and hair tips and tricks, and kit finds, as well as details about booking etiquette when you are on the job.
Important Hygiene Review
-
Never use a mascara/lip product applicator directly on a client - depot it onto a palette and use a brush, or use a disposable applicator
-
Disinfect all products and touch surfaces with 70% alcohol (90% dries too fast to kill germs!)
-
Use a clean towel or paper towel to set up your kit- to avoid damaging any client's property with makeup stains
-
Use Cinema Secrets (or other brand) Brush Cleaner inbetween clients on a single booking - try to shampoo brushes as much as possible.
-
Be aware of your own smells! Use a good deodorant, brush your teeth and have gum on hand. Try to avoid strong perfumes.
-
Spray 70% alcohol on hair brushes - and try to clean all hair and hairspray residue off of tools before each booking.
Photo Tips!
-
Position your client facing a window or a light source (avoid warm overhead lighting!)

-
Wipe your camera lens, make sure its crystal clear!

-
Use hairspray and a brush to "fluff" the hair in front of the shoulders, the bigger the better for pics!

-
Look for fly-away hairs or little things you can fix quickly
